2016 Osaka Gagugei Visit

Students from Osaka Gagugei Secondary visited our school on Monday 17th October. The visit was a great way to help both students of Penrith High and Osaka Gagugei Secondary school to develop an appreciation for other countries and cultures.

The students of Osaka Gagugei Secondary school were directed towards the school gym, where introductory speeches were delivered and a selection of students engaged in musical performances.

After the brief orientation, students assembled into their specified groups (Echidna, Emu, Goanna, Kangaroo, Koala, Kookaburra, Lyrebird, Platypus, Wombat and Wallaby), consisting of approximately 15 Japanese students. Soon after all students were in their allocated groups, they proceeded to their first activity of the day. They were provided with a wide range of activities, which included: Australian cooking, drama, Boomerang-making, Australian sport and English-Japanese conversations.

As the day progressed, students began to gather back into the school gym, where farewell speeches were made and when it was time for their departure, a souvenir was given to remind them of their time here at Penrith High School. All students and staff bid goodbye but the memories will be remembered for a lifetime.
