Our Legacy of Achievement and Growth
2025 - Our 75th Anniversary Year
In 2025, Penrith Selective High School proudly marked its 75th anniversary. This is a milestone that honours our rich history, academic excellence and the generations of students, staff and families who have shaped our community. Since opening in 1950, our school has evolved into a leading selective institution known for its high expectations, diverse opportunities and culture of achievement. Over the decades, thousands of students have walked through our gates, forging lifelong connections and contributing to society in meaningful ways. In celebrating this anniversary year, we acknowledge our past, take pride in our present and look ahead to a future built on innovation, inclusivity and continued success.
Our 75th Anniversary was celebrated on 19 September with a combine P&C and Alumni Committee dinner at Penrith Panthers Leagues Club.
Penrith Selective High School and Hakusan City
We are proud of our long-standing sister school relationship with Hakusan City in Japan. For many years, this partnership has fostered deep cultural understanding, global citizenship and meaningful connections between our students and theirs. Through exchange visits, shared learning experiences and ongoing communication, our students develop language skills, intercultural awareness and lasting friendships. The relationship not only strengthens educational opportunities but also reflects our school’s commitment to global engagement and mutual respect. This partnership continues to be a valued part of our school’s identity, enriching our community and extending our connections beyond Australia’s borders.
In 2025, we hosted 14 students from Hakusan City and in 2026, 16 Penrith students will travel to Hakusan City for a 2 week visit.
Alumni Night
Despite torrential rain and horrendous wild, windy conditions, our 2025 Alumni Night was a powerful celebration of the people who continue to shape the proud legacy of our school. This year’s alumni panel was one of the most diverse and inspiring to date, featuring graduates from as early as the 1950s to as recently as 2024. Their stories spanned medicine, law, science, engineering, education, media, public policy, and more.
Their candid reflections on career pivots, lifelong learning, resilience through setbacks, and unexpected opportunities were both humbling and energising for our current students and staff.
Alumni Night once again reminded us that while each path is different, the foundation of a Penrith Selective education is enduring. The night was full of laughter, shared memories, meaningful conversations, and a renewed sense of connection across generations.
Multicultural Day!
What a fantastic day celebrating the cultures that make our school so special! With amazing performances and delicious food stalls, our community came together in the best way.
A huge thank you to our amazing Student Support Officer and the Student Representative Council for their phenomenal leadership. Coordinating an event of this scale (for over 1,000 students and staff), is no small feat, and today’s success is a true testament to their dedication, teamwork and passion!
A big shoutout to our wonderful P&C for running a stall and joining in the fun – we loved seeing you there!
