Uniform

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community. Learn about our uniform and where to buy it.

School uniform is a very important part of the school culture. Students are expected to be in uniform everyday except for specific mufti days.

Penrith Selective High School has a specific school uniform that all students are required to wear each day. This includes a blazer and tie during the winter months and when representing the school at formal events.

At PSHS we believe school uniforms:

The uniform policy is available in student diaries.

Ordering new school uniforms

Penrith Selective High School students and families should purchase uniforms from our official supplier, Midford, formerly Back to Basics.

Our uniform supplier has a store located in Kingswood, but for parent convenience online orders are encouraged. The supplier will deliver the purchased items to the school on the next school day. Students are notified of the delivery and it can be collected from reception.

Our suppliers website can be found here:

To support all families, the Prefects operate the school's Clothing Pool. A large number of high quality items are available at a nominal price. The PSHS second hand uniform shop is open 5 days a week throughout the school term during Recess or accessed as needed by Deputy Principals and the Accounts Office staff. Further details a can be provided by the Accounts Office staff.

Year 12 students are encouraged to donate their uniforms to the clothing pool at the end of school. Large bins are provided for drop off near the sign out desk on the two clearance days after the final HSC examinations.

Second-hand uniform shop

Purpose

The senior students of Penrith Selective High School are pleased to provide a second-hand uniform service to our school families. This service aims to assist with reducing the high cost of uniforms for families and ensuring clothing in reasonable condition is recycled and not wasted. All proceeds are used to further support your child’s school.

Donations

PSHS second hand uniform shop is always especially grateful to accept donations of second-hand uniform items. Donated items can be left at the school front office or the social sciences department.

Any unnamed lost property not claimed by the end of each term will also be made available for sale in the second-hand uniform shop in the following term. All lost property items will be laundered prior to being offered for sale.

Secondhand uniforms not considered to be in a suitable condition for resale, will be offered for free and can be useful to recycle for buttons, zips or rags.

Student-Run Initiative

The PSHS Second hand uniform shop is operated by a small group of senior student volunteers so please be respectful and mindful of their time, as they will be required to leave promptly at closing times in order to attend their classes. If you have any inquiries regarding the operations of PSHS Second hand uniform shop, please reach out to the Prefects.

Opening Times & Appointments

The PSHS second hand uniform shop is open 5 days a week throughout the school term during Recess.

Any changes to these times will be posted outside the uniform shop with adequate notice.

If you are unable to make it to either of these opening times, we are happy to arrange appointments at a mutually convenient time by contacting the Prefects, or if urgent, a Deputy Principal.

Payment

Unfortunately, at this stage, we are only equipped to accept cash payments and thank you for bringing correct change if possible. Again, all proceeds are introduced back into the school through the P&C.

Blazers

We have recently introduced a fully functioning Secondhand blazer service into the PSHS second hand uniform shop. If your child is interested in purchasing or exchanging a blazer, please find a Blazer inquiry slip in the folder posted outside the shop. Prices currently stand at:
$50 purchase / $10 exchange.
