Historical Towers Magazines
The Towers Magazine has been published since the school's opening in 1950, with the exception of 1951 and 1988.
Our annual school magazine takes its name from a significant piece of Penrith’s history. In the late 1800s, a grand residence known locally as "The Towers" stood on the site of the former Hornseywood homestead. The building was a landmark in the Penrith area throughout the 1890s and into the early 20th century. In the early 1940s, "The Towers" was demolished to make way for the construction of Penrith High School, which now stands on the very same site.
The name of our annual magazine honours the legacy of that historic building and its place in the story of our school. It serves as a reminder of our community’s past and the foundations on which our school was built.
A digitisation project of all editions was completed in 2017 in preparation for the school's 70th Anniversary.
We hope that many of our alumni will enjoy this walk down memory lane and thank you to the staff and students who have contributed to this wonderful publication over seven decades.
